Portronics Apollo 30 Review: 30W Sound & Karaoke Mic Test

The Portronics Apollo 30 is a 30W portable Bluetooth speaker currently priced around ₹2,200 that comes bundled with a wireless karaoke microphone.
In this hands-on review, we found it delivers surprisingly powerful and clear audio for its compact size, making it an excellent choice for small parties and singing.

However, its performance is a story of extremes. While the sound and mic are impressive for the price, it suffers from a short battery life (around 1 hour at max volume) and limited connectivity, lacking both Aux and TF card support.

🎁 Unboxing, Design & Build Quality

Right out of the box, the Apollo 30 feels familiar, resembling a scaled-down version of the Apollo 120.
The front is dominated by a sturdy metal grill covering the 30W driver, surrounded by an RGB light ring that has multiple lighting modes. You can even turn the lights off completely by long-pressing the button.

At just 972 grams, this speaker is extremely portable, with a built-in handle for carrying. Despite online photos suggesting otherwise, it’s compact — about 8 inches tall and 7 inches wide.

The body is made of ABS plastic and rests on four rubber pads for grip. Overall, the build quality feels solid and durable, easily exceeding expectations for its price point.

🎚️ Features, Controls & Ports

All controls and ports are conveniently located on the top panel.
There are standard buttons for power, play/pause, and light control, along with two sets of volume buttons:
– One controls the main speaker volume
– The other adjusts the mic’s echo effect

Under a rubber flap are two ports:
USB-A port for flash drives
Type-C port for charging the speaker

Unfortunately, there’s no Aux input, TF card slot, or TWS pairing support, which limits flexibility.

🎤 The Wireless Karaoke Mic

The included wireless microphone is the main highlight. It’s Type-C rechargeable (no batteries needed), and features buttons for power, mute, and volume control.

In our tests, the mic connected instantly and worked flawlessly within range.
For karaoke nights, small gatherings, or casual singing, it performs exceptionally well for the price.
You can control both the echo and mic volume from either the speaker or the mic itself.

🔊 Audio Quality Test

We tested the speaker over Bluetooth 5.4 connection.

For a 30W speaker, the audio output is surprisingly rich and clean.

Most small party speakers tend to compromise on sound balance, but the Apollo 30 delivers a tight, well-rounded performance that outperforms most rivals at this price.

❌ Skip this if:
You need a longer battery life, TWS pairing, or all-round music use.
For those needs, a model like the Zebronics Juke Bar or BoAt Stone 1350 might be better.

Summary:
The Portronics Apollo 30 is a fun, affordable party speaker with amazing sound and a great mic, let down only by its battery and limited connectivity.
If you value karaoke fun and portability over endurance, this is a top recommendation in its segment.
