Winter Returns: Kasauli’s Rare Snow & Shimla’s Whiteout
The dry spell is broken. From the holy hills of Vaishno Devi to the rare snow-coated streets of Kasauli, winter has returned with a vengeance. But as always, with the snow comes the “Circus.”
Direct from the Scene
The Circus Begins: “Special Talents”
Snowfall arrives, and so do the stunts. A few “special talents” are ensuring they trend for the wrong reasons. In Sanjauli, a youth was filmed doing pushups in the freezing cold, bare-chested. While it grabs eyeballs, locals are urging tourists to respect the weather, not challenge it.
The Silent Heroes: Shivering on Poles
While we stay warm inside our homes, clutching cups of chai, the real story is happening on the electricity poles. These silent heroes from the Himachal electricity department stand out in the freezing cold—shivering on poles and roads so our homes don’t go dark. Salute to our mountain warriors.

“The Mountains Flipped the Script”
Video shared by Sudhir Harjait ji from Bharanu village shows reactions of pure joy. Just days ago, people worried about the dry spell. Then the mountains flipped the script. Whether it’s Himachal or Uttarakhand, people who’ve lived in the hills for generations know this: You can’t predict them.

Travel Advisory: Stalled Cars & Black Ice
As beautiful as the Atal Tunnel looks, the reality on the ground is stark. Himachal Police are working tirelessly as rain and snowfall make roads dangerously slippery.

Advisory: Most areas in upper Himachal (8000 ft+) should be avoided. Traffic is stalled, and “black ice” is a silent killer. Please plan your trip wisely.
Reality Check: Are you chasing the snow this weekend? Drive safe and respect the locals.
