India’s 77th Independence Day A Vision for Tomorrow
Honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi gave a speech from Red Fort on India’s 77th Independence Day, addressing 1.4 billion family members and promising to return next year.
Shri Modi began by referring to India as the largest democracy in the world and asserting that many people think we are also the most populated nation in the world. PM Modi expressed his warmest wishes to the nation’s 140 crore citizens, all of his fellow countrymen, and everyone else who loves, respects, and is proud of India on this glorious and sacred day of independence. 140 crore of my fellow citizens, including my brothers, sisters, and family members, are enjoying our independence today, Modi Ji remarked.
A Nation’s Journey to Freedom Reflecting on India’s Independence
To a large extent, the nation’s liberation was made possible by the non-cooperation movement headed by Mahatma Gandhi, “Pujya Bapu,” and the sacrifices made by heroes like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru. On this day, August 15, we celebrate the 150th anniversaries of Sri Aurobindo, Swami Dayananda Saraswati, the 500th anniversaries of Rani Durgavati, Mirabai, and the 525th anniversaries of Republic Day. These occasions present multiple chances for fostering national development as well as fresh inspiration, consciousness, dreams, and resolutions.
While extending his condolences to all the families who have suffered as a result of this disaster, Modiji expressed deep regret for the natural calamity that has wreaked unimaginable destruction in various sections of the nation. The state and federal governments, according to Modiji, will quickly go beyond all of these obstacles and overcome them. The Prime Minister mentioned Manipur when mentioning how there had been a wave of violence over the previous several weeks, notably in Manipur and some other regions of India, but particularly in Manipur. Numerous individuals have died, and atrocities against women, among them mothers and daughters, have occurred. However, there have been consistent reports of quiet throughout the last few days. But there have been consistent reports of tranquillity throughout the last few days. Manipur’s citizens have the support of the nation. Only by maintaining peace can a solution be found, as has been done by the people of Manipur over the past several days. The state and central governments have made and will continue to make every effort to find solutions to these issues.

Embracing Our Heritage Lessons from the Past and Hopes for the Future
Modiji spoke on the historical events that have left a lasting impression and how their effects have persisted for millennia. Sometimes, he said, something appears to be very insignificant at first, like a minor incident, but it ends up being the cause of several issues. We are aware that an invasion occurred in this nation between 1000 and 1200 years ago. A humble king from a small state was vanquished. But even then, nobody knew that a single incident would condemn India to a millennium of dependence. We became enslaved, imprisoned, trapped, and everyone who came to plunder us or wanted to ride on us stole it. When speaking to those a thousand years of slavery, Modiji stated, “What a terrible time it must have been.”
Even though the event was tiny, it had a long-lasting effect. However, he claimed that he wanted to bring up the same point on Independence Day since, during this time, there was never a place in India or a moment when its warriors did not fight for independence and establish a history of sacrifice. There was not a single Indian who did not live with the desire for independence. This included the ladies of the nation, the youth of the nation, the farmers of the nation, the residents of the villages, and the workers. An huge army was prepared to die for independence. Many outstanding men who spent their formative years behind bars worked to rescue our nation from slavery. Everybody’s trust was restored by that pervasive public knowledge and the pervasive acts of penance and sacrifice, and in 1947 the country at last achieved freedom, enabling its residents to realize the hopes they had fostered during the country’s 1,000-year history of slavery. Since Modiji was able to perceive that the nation is once again presented with a chance, he spoke while referring to an event that took place a thousand years ago.
PM Modi’s Promises A Guide and a way forward for India
Amrut Kaal of India: A Time of Renewed Dedication and National Pride
We are fortunate to be living in such an eternal era—Amrut Kaal of India, this is the first year of this period, or we have reached our youth or have been placed on Mother India’s lap—or that we have entered such a time period. Write down everything I have to say about this time period, my beloved family members, including the actions we will take, the sacrifices we will make, and the penance we will do. One after another decisions will be made for the good of everyone and their pleasure, and it will be through these decisions that the country’s glorious history for the next kairos will emerge. The things that happen during this time will have an effect for the following a thousand years. With a renewed sense of self-confidence and dedication to its five fundamental forces, the nation that has broken free from the mentality of enslavement is going ahead. He is putting his whole heart and soul into keeping the new year’s resolutions.
Stepping into the Eternal Era A Journey of Resurgence and Progress for Mother India
My mother India used to be a force of nature, but she was buried in a mound of ashes. With the efforts of 140 crore Indians, their conscience, and their vitality, Mother India has once more woken. Mother India has woken, and I can plainly see that this is the time period we have been living through for the past nine to ten years, friends. A new attraction, new confidence, and a new hope have emerged worldwide toward India’s consciousness and capabilities, and this beam of light that has sprung from India is visible to the world as its own light. The world is becoming more certain. We are fortunate to still possess certain relics from the past that have undergone modern-day influence.

Unity in Diversity: India’s 77th Independence Day Celebration
Demography, democracy, and diversity are all features of today. Demography, democracy, and diversity together have the power to realize all of India’s aspirations. India is advancing toward youth with vigour at a time when other nations are ageing and failing.
Empowering Youth India’s Potential in the Digital Age
What a wonderful moment it is that today, my mother India is the only country in the world with the largest population under the age of 30. It is in my country, and if there are young people under 30 years old, they are in my country. If there are millions of arms, millions of brains, millions of dreams, and millions of resolutions, then brothers and sisters, my dear family members, we can accomplish the goals we have set for ourselves.
Challenges and Resilience: PM Modi’s Address to a United Nation
These events alter the nation’s destiny. This skill alters the course of the nation. We are at a turning point between the wonderful India of the next millennium and the thousand years of dependence in India. We are at a crossroads like this, therefore we can’t back down or let uncertainty rule our lives. We must once more understand that whatever we do, whatever steps we take, and whatever choices we make will set our course for the next thousand years while also taking pleasure in our lost legacy and regaining our lost riches.
A Vision for Progress: Modi’s Roadmap for India’s Development
Therefore, we cannot let this go away. Youth have strength, and our traditions and policies work to amplify that strength. I believe in the power of youth. India currently ranks in the top three startup economy systems in the world, thanks to my youth. When the world sees India’s power and capabilities, it is in awe. India’s technological skills will play a new role as the globe becomes more and more dependent on technology in the future.
Bridging Boundaries Insights from the G-20 Conference and India’s Digital Triumphs
I recently travelled to Bali for the G-20 conference, where even the leaders of the developed world were curious to learn about India’s Digital India program’s accomplishments and complexities. Everyone was asking questions, so I responded by explaining that what India has accomplished is not just restricted to Delhi, Mumbai, or Chennai, but also includes my Tier-2 and Tier-3 city children. Our towns and cities may be modest in terms of area and population, but they nonetheless possess the same capacity for hope, desire, effort, and effect as everyone else.
Innovation Knows No Boundaries Tech Success Stories from Every Nook
New technology, new approaches, and new applications. Now consider the realm of sports and the accomplishments of the children emerging from the streets to demonstrate their skill in the sporting arena. Young people from little towns and villages, our sons and daughters, are currently accomplishing amazing things. Now look, there are 100 schools in my nation where students are building satellites in preparation for satellite launches. Thousands of experimentation labs are creating new scientists right now. Millions of kids are being motivated to advance in science and technology today by the tens of thousands of tinkering laboratories.
From Dependence to Prosperity PM Modi’s Call to Action
Unveiling Boundless Opportunities for Inspiring Youth of India
I want to reassure the young people in my nation that there are plenty of possibilities available to them, and that my nation is capable of providing them with as many as the sky can hold.
There has been a significant contribution from my employees and labourers in my country today, and from the ramparts of Red Fort, I should congratulate them on the modernity that the nation is advancing toward and the capabilities that it is displaying that are similar to those of the world. Greetings to them and their family We respect the 140 billion citizens of our country—the labourers, the hawkers, the flower and vegetable vendors—for moving our nation forward and advancing it to new heights. Professionals—whether they are scientists, engineers, doctors, nurses, teachers, acharyas, university presidents, or administrators of gurukuls—have assumed a more significant role in recent years.
Professionals at the Helm Pioneering a New Era of Leadership
The initiative is now in our hands, therefore we must seize the moment and seize the possibility. I also congratulate my Indian compatriots on their ability to distinguish between milk and water and to identify the underlying causes of issues. As a result, in 2014, after 30 years of experience, my compatriots determined that a strong, stable government with an absolute majority was necessary for the country’s advancement. The people have since formed such a government. And we were liberated from it after the nation had been plagued by uncertainty, instability, and political coercion for three decades.
A Government for the People: Unwavering Commitment to National Welfare
Currently, the country has a government that works continuously for the balanced development of the nation, for the well-being of all citizens, and for their happiness. My government is also committed to upholding the honour of my fellow citizens, and we operate under the guiding principle that putting the needs of the nation first will lead to long-term success. In the nation, a great deal of work is being done on a massive scale. The fact that you established a powerful government in 2014 and again in 2019 is what gave Modi the confidence to change. You created a government that Modi had the guts to overhaul.
Nurturing National Assets Strengthening the Framework for the New Millennium
And as Modi implemented one reform after another, my bureaucracy’s thousands of hands and feet—who work for the government in every region of India—fulfilled their obligation to perform well and demonstrate by performing, and when Janata-Janardan joined them, it was also clear that the bureaucracy was undergoing change. As a result, reform has transformed this time period and is currently influencing India’s future. And we’re considering enhancing those national assets that will solidify the framework for the new millennium. The world needs youth’s abilities and power. We have established a separate ministry for skills; it will meet India’s demands and be able to do the same for the rest of the globe. We have established a ministry for water power. One may have a deep understanding of this government’s thinking and reasoning if they examine even the process of creating new ministries. We established a water power ministry; it is our responsibility to ensure that every resident of our nation has access to safe drinking water. We are also supporting the development of water-sensitive systems. Following Corona, holistic health care is becoming more and more popular in our nation.
Innovations and Aspirations India’s Role on the Global Stage
Due to our dedication, the world has turned toward us. How can the rest of the world accept it if we ourselves deny this ability? However, the usefulness of the ministry became clear after it was established. Fish farming, with its extensive coastline, millions of fisherman brothers and sisters, and distinct ministries for animal husbandry and dairy, allows us to serve those disadvantaged groups in society. The governmental economy is a component of it in our nation, but the cooperative movement is a significant component of the social economy. To strengthen democracy’s largest unit and give it strength, we have established a separate cooperative ministry. It is expanding its network so that even the poorest people can be heard, their needs can be met, and they can also contribute as part of a small unit in aiding national development. We have chosen the route from riches to collaboration.
Rising Strong: A Journey from 10th to 5th in the Global Economy
Our efforts as 140 crore citizens have paid off, and today we are at number 5 in the world economy, up from when we arrived in 2014 when we were ranked number 10. And this did not occur suddenly when scandals totalling millions of crores were altering the country’s economic governance and shaky identities were beginning to appear in files. We closed loopholes, built a robust economy, and allocated more resources than ever before to the welfare of the poor.
More than 13 crores of my underprivileged brothers and sisters have broken the bonds of poverty and emerged as a new middle class today, in my one term of five years, as a consequence of all these efforts. There is no greater fulfilment in life. And when more than 13 crore people escape the misery of poverty, what kinds of programs have aided them? They gain from the housing program, and PM Swanidhi has given the hawkers 50 thousand crores.
Nurturing Skill and Tradition: Launching the Vishwakarma Plan for Economic Empowerment
In the upcoming days, on the approaching Vishwakarma Jayanti, we will execute a program. This Vishwakarma Jayanti, we will introduce a Vishwakarma plan with around 13–15,000 crores for those individuals who live with traditional skills and work with tools and their hands, largely from the OBC community.
Empowering Traditional Artisans
We will introduce the Vishwakarma plan in the upcoming month on Vishwakarma Jayanti and start it with around 13–15,000 crores in order to provide a fresh strength to our carpenters, goldsmiths, Rajmistri Masons, people who wash clothes, siblings and sisters, families who trim hair, and other similar individuals. Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, we have directly deposited 2.5 lakh crore rupees into the accounts of the farmers in my nation. To provide clean water to every home, we have invested two lakh crore rupees in the Jal Jeevan Mission. Because of the Ayushman Bharat program, impoverished people no longer have to endure the inconvenience of hospital visits for illness. With the help of our 70 thousand crore investment in the Ayushman Bharat plan, he receives medication, therapy, and procedures at top facilities. You’ll be glad to know that we have invested close to 15,000 crores on animal husbandry vaccination in order to safeguard animal husbandry.
Expanding Horizons: Strengthening Healthcare with More Jan Aushadhi Centers
Senior citizens and families from the middle class have received fresh vigour through Jan Aushadhi centres. If someone in a joint household develops diabetes, it is only normal for a bill of between two and three thousand rupees to result. We distributed Jan-Aushadhi Center medication, which costs 100 rupees on the market, for 10 rupees, 15 rupees, and 20 rupees. And now, those who needed treatment for these illnesses from the country’s 1000 Jan-Aushadhi centres have saved roughly 20 crore rupees in their purses. And the majority of these are middle-class households. However, in light of its current success, I wish to inform my fellow citizens that we want to reach that social class by implementing a Vishwakarma system. With an aim of 25 thousand Jan-Aushadhi centers in the next days, we will seek to expand the country’s current 10,000 Jan-Aushadhi centres.
The strength of the middle class rises significantly as national poverty declines. And I can assure you that PM Modi’s promise that India would overtake the United States as one of the top three economies in the world in the next five years will undoubtedly come true. Over 13 crore individuals have today managed to escape poverty, emerging as a sort of middle-class power. The middle class’s commercial influence increases when the purchasing power of the impoverished rises. The economic system of towns and cities functions more quickly as the purchasing power of villages rises. And this is the linked economic cycle we have. By strengthening it, we wish to advance.
Building Dreams Building Homes A New Chapter for Middle-Class Families
Within cities where weak people reside, away from ongoing issues. Families in the middle class long for their own homes. We are also introducing a plan for this that will last for a few years, and it will include members of my family who reside in cities but do so in leased homes, slums, chawls, and unapproved colonies. We have decided to provide aid in the form of millions of rupees in case such family members desire to construct their own home. The middle class benefits the most from the increase in the income tax threshold from two lakh to seven lakh, according to my family’s experience. Since internet data costs are now among the lowest in the world, every household is saving money.
Inflation’s Global Grasp A New Challenge Amid Post-COVID Recovery
While the latest war has brought up an entirely novel problem at a time when the entire world is still recovering from Corona crisis. The inflation challenge is something that the globe is now battling. Inflation has taken hold over the whole global economy. We import commodities from throughout the world as well because we need them, but we also have to import inflation because we import things. Inflation has therefore taken hold over the entire planet.
India has made enormous efforts to keep inflation under control. Compared to the previous time, we have had some success, but we are not content with that. We can’t think too much since we have better stuff than the rest of the world, therefore I need to do more to help my compatriots cope with inflation. And we’ll go ahead and do it. My initiatives will not stop.
Embracing Peace The Triumph Over Terrorism and Violence
We used to hear about bomb blasts occurring both here and there on a daily basis. There used to be notifications and warnings to not touch the bag all over the place. The nation is currently enjoying a sense of security, and when there is security there is also peace, which allows us to realize new dreams of advancement. As a result, the period of serial bombings is passed. Innocent deaths are now a thing of the past. Today, the number of terrorist strikes in the nation has significantly decreased. The Naxal-affected districts have also seen significant alteration, and a significant environment of change has developed.
Unleashing a Spectrum of Capabilities India’s Dynamic Journey of Progress
The nation is advancing now with a wide range of skills. The nation strives towards modernization. The nation is working on renewable energy today, green hydrogen today, and the nation’s capabilities in space today. Therefore, the nation is likewise making progress in deep-sea missions.
Connecting Dreams Vande Bharat to Quantum Computing and Beyond
The Vande Bharat rapid train is now operating throughout the nation as its railways become more sophisticated. Between-village pucca roads, electric buses, and metro development are all now taking place throughout the nation. Since the internet has spread from village to village today, the nation is likewise pursuing quantum computing. On one side, we are strengthening organic farming while simultaneously working on nano urea and nano DAP. In order to manufacture semiconductors, we also wish to construct the farmer producer organization, or FPO. We strive to build an inclusive India for persons with disabilities, hence we are giving our people with disabilities the authority to raise the Indian flag at the Paralympics. Players are receiving specialized instruction from us.
Dreaming Big Achieving Bigger India’s Blueprint for Advancement
India is going forward today by defining objectives and accomplishing them with the intention of doing so, leaving behind outdated ideas and practices. And when I say that we inaugurate it during our term, I also mean that our administration laid the foundation stone for it. These days, everything I am building the foundation stone for, you write and keep its inauguration entirely in my hands. This has been the ethos of our workplace: think large, think far, and for the sake of everyone. And more than anything else, we must work with this energy in order to attain our goals.
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: Building 75,000 Amrit Sarovars for a Greener India
During Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, we decided to construct 75,000 Amrit Sarovar. We decided to construct 75 Amrit Sarovars in each district at that time. Amrit Sarovar’s estimated number was between 50 and 55 thousand. But currently, there are 75,000 people working on the Amrit Sarovar development project. This is an enormous job in and of itself. The combined force of water and man will be useful in safeguarding India’s ecology. Reaching 18 thousand communities with power, activating Jan Dhan bank accounts, and providing the restrooms for women—all goals will be met fully and on schedule. This states our track record, and when India decides, it completes it.
India’s Great Achievements
Vaccination Drive to Technological Advancements
The 200 crore vaccinations drive in India. Because the effort is so large, when the world inquires about numbers, we respond with “200 crore,” and their eyes light up. The Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, and health workers in my nation have demonstrated this. This is the capacity of my nation. My nation has implemented 5G at the quickest rate in the world, covering more than 700 districts. and currently getting ready for 6-G. We’ve established a task force. In terms of renewable energy, we are ahead of schedule. We fulfilled the renewable energy goal we had set for 2030 in 2021–2022. We had discussed mixing ethanol into gasoline at a 20 per cent ratio, and we finished the project five years early. We had talked about 500 billion dollar export we have done more than five hundred billion dollars before time. We decided that a new parliament should be built in the nation, something that had been discussed in our nation for 25 years. However, there was no session in Parliament for the new parliament, which Modi built ahead of schedule, dear brothers and sisters. This government works, the government that surpasses established targets. This is the new India. This India is filled with self-confidence. This India is engaged with all of its might to carry out its resolutions.
And because of this, my dear family members’ economic strength is full, our military strength has increased, and our borders are now more secure than they were before. I now move on to congratulate my soldiers on this auspicious occasion of freedom as well as my uniform forces, who are in charge of my country’s internal security, numerous times.
The army should be empowered, our army should be youthful, our army should be ready to fight, and our army should be reforming right now. We used to hear about bomb blasts occurring both here and there on a daily basis. There used to be notifications and warnings to not touch the bag all over the place. Currently, the nation has a sense of security, and when there is security, there is peace, which allows us to realize new dreams of advancement. Given this, the age of continuous bomb explosions is now history. The killing of innocent people is no longer an issue. Terrorist assaults in the nation have drastically decreased as of late. The Naxal-affected districts have also undergone significant alteration, and a significant environment of change has been established.
Although we are making progress in every area, the hope of a developed India—which is not a dream, but the resolve of 140 crore citizens—is what is driving us ahead in 2047. Additionally, there is a determined attempt to demonstrate the nation’s character as its greatest asset and source of resolve. The national character has been a significant catalytic force around the globe, present alongside everything else, in all nations that have advanced and survived crises. And in order to advance, we must strengthen the national character. We all share responsibility for maintaining the vitality, brilliance, hard work ethic, bravery, and wit of our nation. And for the next 25 years we should move forward with one mantra only, this should be the crown of our national character. The message of unity, live India’s unity, India’s unity should not be touched, neither will my language be like this nor will any of my steps be like this. This should be the pinnacle of our national character for the next 25 years as we move forward. My main priority is Unity I am going to continue to work on connecting the nation at every opportunity. India is strong because of its togetherness. We must all move forward with a sense of unity, whether we are from the north, the south, the east, or the west, from a village or a city, or whether we are men or women. In a nation full of diversity, there is strength in unity. Another crucial point is that if we want to see India as a developed nation in 2047, we must live up to the slogan “Great India” and fulfil it.
Now let’s talk about goods produced in India. Zero defects, zero effects, was what I had stated in 2014. If a Make in India item sits on any table on the globe, the world should feel that nothing can be greater than this. It will be the pinnacle, our everything, the finest of our offerings, our words, our institutions, and our decision-making procedures. We must walk with a haughty attitude of superiority. The third point is that women-led growth has the potential to be an extra force that propels the nation ahead and will do the same for India.
India can now boast that, if any one nation has the most number of female pilots in civil aviation worldwide, it is India. Today, whether it’s about the pace of Chandrayaan or the moon mission, a female scientist is in charge. Women’s self-help organizations ought to exist now, and that is what we are working on in order to achieve my 2 crore Lakhpati Didi’s goal. We are promoting the potential of our women’s power and women-led growth, and when I brought up the subject at the G-20, the entire group acknowledged and accepted its significance. They are giving us more power by doing this. India is a diverse nation in a similar way. Due to our propensity for alienating one another, we have become the victims of imbalanced growth, which has also affected several regions of our nation. Now we must strengthen regional aspirations for balanced development, and with regional aspirations, we must respect that feeling. If any part of our body is undeveloped, our body will not be considered developed. Similarly, if any part of my mother India, any class of society, is weak, then my mother India would be incapable of healthy thinking. However, thinking like this prevents us from sitting down. Therefore, it is necessary to meet regional desires, and we also want societal development that is inclusive of all regions of the country so that each one may grow and develop in the way that we see fit.
You are entirely correct that India is the birthplace of democracy and a shining example of diversity. There are several dialects, languages, clothing, and ethnicities. On the basis of all of them, we must proceed. When I discuss national unity, if an event occurs in Manipur, then Maharashtra suffers, and if there is a flood in Assam, then Kerala gets uneasy. We feel the effects of whatever occurs wherever in Hindustan. No one should oppress the daughters of my land; this is our societal obligation, our familial responsibility, and our collective responsibility as a society.
Let me give you an example from my recent trip while we’re talking about respect for women. While I was travelling, a very prominent minister there asked me whether Indian girls were studying engineering and science. They were surprised when I informed them that more females than boys now participate to the fullest in STEM fields, or science, technology, engineering, and math. In our nation today, this potential is evident.
Today, 10 billion women are involved in women’s self-help organizations, and when you go to a village with a women’s self-help group, you will see sisters in the bank, Anganwadi sisters, and sisters who give out medication. My ambition is to create 2 lack crore lakhpati sisters in villages. And as a result, I am considering a new program that will strengthen our agricultural sector’s use of technology. Women self-help sisters will provide training in drone flying and drone repair, and thousands of other Women Self Help Group members will receive drone training from the Indian government. This is because I recognize the capabilities of our village women, and I also believe that this will be a good use of science and technology. The Indian government will provide drone training, and we will begin flying drones for agricultural purposes with a group of 15,000 women. You are 100% correct that we have planned for Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks to promote balanced growth, and we are now seeing some very positive outcomes. I am convinced that in the days to come, our ambitious districts and our ambitious blocks will unquestionably advance. The normal parameters of the state, which were earlier far behind in the Aspirational Districts, have already begun performing well in the state as well. When describing India’s character, I talked first of India’s unity, then of the need for India to strive for excellence, and last of women’s empowerment. As we have regional aspirations, I previously stated that the fourth and fifth most essential thing India must now move in that direction is that our national character should consider the well-being of the entire globe. We must build the nation up to the point where it can contribute to the well-being of the entire planet. And now, after Corona, I can clearly understand how the nation’s assistance to the globe during times of need has led to its current status as a friend to all of humanity. The identity of my nation has developed today. India’s fundamental belief is that we are the ones who will advance the welfare of all people, and I am pleased that today, on the occasion of our August 15th, many elected officials of the American Parliament are also present among us. What is India’s perspective on how to bring the discussion of global wellbeing forward? Now that you’ve seen it, when we reflect, what do we say? Well, the world has seen our vision and is now joining us in it. In the sphere of renewable energy, we made a very significant declaration that the world is now accepting: One Sun, One World, One Grid. After Covid, we declared to the world that One Earth, One Health should be our guiding principle because only then would we be able to treat humans, animals, and plants equally when they are ill. We have made it known to everyone that we are pursuing this idea in support of the G-20 Summit’s theme, One World, One Family, One Future. The Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure CDRI has provided it to the globe as a solution since we have demonstrated a means for the world that is battling with climate owing to natural catastrophes related to global warming.Since the world is turning the oceans into a battlefield, we have given Sagara a stage so that she might serve as a peacekeeper for the world’s waters. In order to strengthen conventional medical practices, we have strived to establish a WHO global-level centre in India. Through yoga and Ayush, we have contributed to the welfare and health of the planet. India is currently building a solid basis for global prosperity. Our task is to build on this solid basis. Everyone is accountable for it. There are numerous ambitions, a firm commitment, and clear policies. The purpose does not have a question mark in front of it. But there are some facts that we must face, and in order to find them, I have come to the Red Fort today to ask for your family’s support and blessings. Because of what I’ve learned over the past few years about the nation and what I know about its needs. And I’m saying now we need to take those things seriously based on experience. When the nation celebrates 100 years of freedom in 2047, the tricolor flag of India should be one of the most advanced tricolor flags in the world at that time. Awareness, transparency, and cooperation are necessary to achieve this. This should be our common obligation as citizens, families, and institutions to provide as much support and strength as we can. The capacity of India has never been in short supply, as seen by the past 75 years, so why can’t the nation that was once referred to as a “golden sparrow” rise to the occasion once more? Friends, loving family members, and my unwavering belief that India would continue to be a developed nation when the nation marks its 100th anniversary of independence in 2047 are the foundations of my unwavering faith. This is what I’m saying based on the resources I have at my disposal and, most crucially, the confidence of my youthful power, who are under 30. I’m saying this with the confidence of my moms and sisters, but if there is a barrier in the way, some behaviors that have persisted for the past 75 years have been so ingrained in our social structure that at times we even close our eyes. We shouldn’t close our eyes right now. We must quit playing hide-and-seek and wage a fierce battle against these three evils if we are to achieve our goals and test our commitment. Corruption has destroyed all of our nation’s systems like termites and robbed us of all of our skills. Freedom from corruption, a battle against corruption in every department, every area, and for my fellow citizens, my dear family members, is Modi’s life pledge. It is also a personal commitment on my part to keep fighting corruption. Nepotism is the second issue that has weakened our nation. Nepotism has deprived people of their rights by keeping them captive in such a way that it has done, and appeasement is the third evil. Additionally, this appeasement has damaged our fundamental conceptions of our nation and our inclusive national identity. These individuals have wrought havoc. Therefore, we must fight against these three evils with all of our strength, my dear fellow citizens, and my beloved family members. These issues, which have developed and stifled people’s aspirations, include nepotism, appeasement, and corruption. It makes use of the little talent that certain people in our nation may possess. These are issues that call into question or cast doubt on people’s objectives. We all need to get rid of these three evils for the rights of everyone, whether they be our poor, Dalit, backward, marginalized, tribal brothers and sisters, or mothers and sisters. It’s imperative that we incite hate towards corruption. There is no worse thing in public life than this, just as dirt breeds hatred in our hearts. In order to eradicate corruption, we must thus give our drive for cleanliness a new direction. The administration is working very hard to eliminate corruption via technology. You’ll be astonished to learn about one thing I accomplished in this nation over the past nine years: based on the statistics, Modi appears to be doing it similarly to the almost ten million individuals who used to take unfair advantage, which I stopped. Consequently, some of you may claim that you have done injustice to those individuals; yet, these ten crore people were those who were not even born and who would eventually turn old, become crippled, and lose their eligibility for benefits. Stopping ten crore such anonymous things that used to run is a sacred job, and the property of the corrupt that we have confiscated is 20 times greater than before. This was the money you had earned, which somebody had taken and run away with. People are understandably unhappy with me since 20 times more property has been taken. However, I must continue the fight against corruption. During the earlier years, the governments would take act in front of the camera, but subsequently, things would stop. As a result of our honest battle against corruption, we have filed several times as many charge sheets in court as we did previously, and bail is no longer an option. Today, this nation has suffered greatly due to nepotism and appeasement. Now, how can this occur in a democracy where political parties—I’m putting a specific emphasis on political parties—can cause such a distortion in my nation’s democracy that India’s democracy can never recover from the illness that is family parties? Their political party is for the family, by the family, and for the family. This is their guiding principle. Examples of nepotism, such as brother-nephew relationships, harm skills. Nepotism discredits talents and credentials, and it discredits merit. Therefore, eliminating nepotism is essential to the sustainability of democracy in our nation. It is crucial for social justice to prevail because the Sarvajan Hitay Sarvajan Sukhay concept holds that everyone should get their rights. Social justice has suffered the most from appeasement politics. If anything has brought social justice to the brink of extinction, it is this appeasement-based political philosophy and government policy. Because appeasement and corruption are the main threats to growth, we must resist them. If the nation wishes to go toward its goal of having a developed India in 2047, it is imperative that we move forward with the attitude that we will not accept corruption under any circumstances. The way you have lived your life, forcing our future generations to live such a life is our sin. It is our responsibility to leave our future generations with a prosperous, balanced, and socially just nation so that they never have to struggle to obtain even the most basic necessities. Each of us has a responsibility to uphold as citizens, and Amritkal has a responsibility to uphold. We must not neglect our responsibilities; we must create the India of the renowned Bapu, the India of the freedom warriors, the India of the heroic martyrs, and the courageous ladies who gave their life to protect their country.
I promised you a change in 2014 when I first came to see you. I promised you in 2014 that I would bring about change. And I attempted to repay the faith that 140 crores of my family members had placed in me. Because I had promised change, Reform, Perform, and Transform—a promise that had been there for five years—became a source of trust. This pledge has become a source of trust thanks to Reform, Perform, Transform. I have put a lot of effort into serving my nation, which is my primary and most important concern. Based on my performance in 2019, you all continued to bless me. I came here because of the promise of change, returned because of performance, and will experience extraordinary growth over the next five years. And the next time, on August 15, from this Red Fort, I will deliver to you the accomplishments of the nation, your support, your commitment to its advancement, and its prosperity with even greater assurance.
My family, I was born among you, I grew up among you, and I live for you. Even in my dreams, everything is for you as Indians. If I sweat, it’s for you, not because you’ve given me duty; I sweat because you’re my family, and as a member of your family, I can’t see your sufferings or your aspirations crumble. I am a person who has arrived with a resolve and I think that our ancestors who battled for freedom and had dreams that dreams are with us. As a companion to carry your determination to fulfilment to unite with you to live with you to fight for you.
This is the first year of Amritkal, and as I speak to you now, I can confidently say the following poetry lines :
चलता चलाता कालचक्र,
अमृतकाल का भालचक्र,
सबके सपने, अपने सपने,
पनपे सपने सारे, धीर चले, वीर चले, चले युवा हमारे,
नीति सही रीती नई, गति सही राह नई,
चुनो चुनौती सीना तान, जग में बढ़ाओ देश का नाम।
I once again wish you all a very joyful and holy holiday of independence. My family members sitting in every corner of India and my family members have settled in every corner of the world. And this Amritkal is a period when we all have obligations. We should take action for the nation of India at the beginning of the “Amritkaal”. The generation born before 1947 had the opportunity to give their lives in defence of the nation when the struggle for liberation was still in progress. While we do not have the option to die for our nation in our destiny, they did not miss the chance to do so. However, there is no chance bigger for us than to live for the nation. With this determination, we must live for the nation at all times. In this Amritkal, we must also create dreams and resolve for 140 crore citizens. When the tricolour flag is flying in 2047, the world would be praising an advanced India because we have to turn the determination of 140 crore persons into fulfilment. I’m wishing you and everyone a ton of success with this assurance and this commitment. Congratulations all around.
